Technique:
1. Mix 50/50 alcohol and vinegar.
2. Fill a 20 to 50 CC syringe (without the needle on it).
3. Inject it into the ear – (not so fast that you would cause damage and don’t force it as to block the air that comes out and blow the dogs ear drum).
4. Massage it for 60 seconds.
5. Clean the ear with cotton balls (not “Q” tips).
6. If the dog requires meds – put them in after this application.
With dogs that seem to have constant ear problems – clean their ears at least once a week.

Control of fleas in pet’s bed and furniture. Cut up a new flea collar into four pieces and place under pet’s bed or under furniture cushions. This will keep the fleas away from your pet’s bed and your furniture. Replace flea collar pieces when expired. Control of fleas in house. After vacuuming carpet and rugs, store vacuum in garage. If vacuum is kept in closet or inside house, fleas will jump out of vacuum and return.

A squirt gun does work as a training device for cats but some people are leary of using it. However, a nicer and actually more effective item is the can of compressed air that you get at computer stores for cleaning the computer. You can quickly teach cats that you don’t want them on the counter, or behind the fridge, or picking on the bird. They hate the blast of air, and even the sound if you are too far away for them to feel it. (don’t spray more than a short blast though, its very cold.

To remove stale odors in the wash, add baking soda and hang out to dry in the sunshine.
Take a 12 oz plastic cup and pour it half full of liquid Tide then pour just about equal amount of Dreft onto that and mix it up and apply to ANY baby stain. I use a paintbrush to brush it onto my baby’s clothes. Let it dry and wash normally. I’ve also gotten out old stains with it as well!
1/2 c. salt
food coloring
1 T. alum
1 T. vegetable oil
Mix together, then bring 2 cups water to a boil. Add food coloring, then pour over flour mixture and stir. It will be lumpy. Knead thoroughly as soon as it is cool enough to handle. Keep in airtight container when not in use. Stays nice for a long time.
